A Bougainville Sing Sing in Papua New Guinea

Article | A BOUGAINVILLE SING SING IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA. In mid 2017 various schools from across central Bougainville came together for the Cool Culture Competition, aka a sing sing.

The event was organised by the Arawa Haus Stori and I was asked to attend to photograph the performance. I knew there would be performances of singing, dancing and traditional attire, however the thing that really struck me was the level of energy, drive and passion on display – you didn’t simply watch the sing sing performance, you felt it.
